About Buckingham Palace


Buckingham Palace is the home and office of Her Majesty the Queen. It is one of the few working royal palaces remaining in the world today. During the summer, visitors can tour the nineteen State Rooms, which form the heart of the Palace. These magnificent rooms are decorated with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Canaletto and sculpture by Canova.

Madame Tussauds is a museum that contains wax models of famous people. There are numerous galleries such as Pirates of the Caribbean, World leaders, Warhol's women The Royal Family, Pop stars, Hollywood stars, sport stars. the Culture zone and the History of London.

Madame Tussauds is open seven days a week. Normal opening hours are 9:30 – 5:30. Peak opening hours are 9.00 - 6.00. Peak times are every weekend and UK school holidays. Please refer to www.madame-tussauds.co.uk for full details. Christmas Eve 9.00 - 2.30, closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day 10.30 - 6.00 and New Year's Day 9.30 - 6.00.

Summer Weather
Summer can be very pleasant with temperatures averaging 18°C and often into the low 20s. In recent years London has experienced heatwaves with temperatures well above 30°C

Spring and Autumn Weather
Spring and autumn see temperatures of around 11° to 15°C .Evenings are lighter for longer with the advent of British Summer Time at the end of March (until end October).

Winter Weather
Typical temperatures for winter are between 2 and 6°C). Temperatures don't often drop below freezing and snow isn't common.

Rainfall in London
The number of rainy days (with more than 0.25mm of rainfall) is fairly consistent throughout the year, with between 11 and 15 rainy days every month. Overall rainfall is highest in November and August (64 mm and 59mm respectively) and is lowest in March and April (37mm each).



Festivals:



The City of London Festival is an annual arts festival that takes place in the City of London, England, over two to three weeks in June and July. The Festival is strongly geared towards classical music, but also offers a program that includes jazz, world music, opera, film screenings, lectures and guided tours. Performances are usually held within local venues including some of London's ornate churches, St Paul's Cathedral and Livery Company Halls.

The Great Gorilla run is a 7km run raising money and awareness for the gorillas’ who are becoming an endangered species. Which you are required to run in a gorilla costume
